(203 words) The past centuries have left us many different paintings. Some are very beautiful, others with meaning, but the most outstanding of them just touch the soul. One of these paintings is “Friends” by Shirokov. It depicts a beautiful dumb friendship between man and dog.
The artist painted a young man sitting on the bed. Together with him lay a large black dog with white paws. The boy looks thoughtfully at his friend and strokes him in soft wool. They are not cheerful, rather sad. The expression on the dog’s face echoes the host’s emotions. No wonder, because animals feel everything. For some reason, the young man climbed onto the bed in street shoes and clothes, as if he had not even found it necessary to undress. Maybe something happened, and now both heroes are experiencing sadness, shock or confusion. With a little sympathy, the faithful dog tries to console his comrade: he lays down next to him and does not insist on games. And the guy really thinks about something of his own, he has no time for fun. But in difficult times, friendship is also known. The idea of the author is to depict the moment when two comrades understand and support each other without words.
I like Shirokov’s picture “Friends” because he teaches real life values - friendship and mutual assistance. Only true comrades are able to understand each other and not turn away in difficult times. The artist found a way to portray this devotion in understandable and close to people images.
Plan of composition for Shirokov’s painting “Friends”:
