(363 words) I. S. Turgenev wrote many lyric works, one of which is the story Asya. It is filled with subtle feelings of romance and sincerity of the characters. The main character of the story I. Turgenev becomes a young girl Asya. She is seventeen years old, she is the illegitimate daughter of a landowner and serf servant. Having received news of the death of her mother at an early age, the girl takes her father into her home in care. Now Asya will face a new life, which, however, does not bring her happiness.
Asi's image connects youth with maturity. She can be a baby like a child and at certain times she may seem like a serious obstinate girl. It contains those qualities of simplicity, youth, expressiveness, which attracted Mr. N. N. from the first moment. Asya's character is very lively and in-depth; for her cowardice and falsehood are negative qualities in a person, which is why she always seeks to know all the truth.
The story begins with the words of Mr. N. N. .. He tells how he first met Asya and her brother Gagin. From the very first moment, the girl appears before the reader as a pretty and simple girl. Asya differs from the ladies of the “secular” circle in its simplicity and special mystery. She is like an element of fire and water: then she has fun and amuses herself like a child, then she calms down and goes into herself, reflecting on her mission in life. The girl always strives to discover something new. For her, the main principles are truthfulness and honesty. Therefore, Asya immediately decided to confess her love for Mr. N. N.
Learning about these feelings, the man fears the mood of the girl. After all, he considered her not only too young, but also too expressive. Her origin was also a dubious virtue for his wife. These qualities frightened Mr. N. in a young beauty, and he could not reciprocate immediately. He was afraid that Asya might not fit into the role of the wife of the secular circle because of her origin. The man was too indecisive to show romantic feelings.
Having not received a mutual answer, Asya leaves with her brother. She understands that Mr. N. is not a couple for her; for her, he is an insecure and weak man. Having missed the girl, he still understands that he loves Asya with all his heart. She will be remembered by him for her tenderness and sincerity. He admits that no one in him sparked such feelings as Asya. After which he realizes that he has deprived himself of true happiness and true love.
