Tribute, the heir to the kingdom of Yan, lived as a hostage in Qin. The prince there mocked him, did not let him go home. The insulted Tribute planned to take revenge on the offender. Having finally escaped from captivity, he began to call on the brave warriors to march on Bishop Qin. But the plans of the heir Dan were opposed by his mentor. He advised not to attack Qin alone, but to attract allies.
"The heart cannot wait!" - exclaimed the heir. Then the mentor introduced to his lord the famous sage Tien Guan, who was received at the court with all possible honor. For three months, the sage pondered how to help Dan, and then he advised from all the brave men of the kingdom to choose a certain Jing Ke who could accomplish the great work of revenge. The heir accepted the advice, and asked the sage to keep everything secret. He, offended by disbelief, committed suicide - swallowed his tongue and died.
When Jing Ke learned what he was called to fulfill, he developed a special plan: to present the ruler of Qin with the head of his enemy and a drawing of the land that had not yet been conquered by him, and then kill the villain. So he went to Qin. His plan was almost a success. When he had already brought a dagger to punish the Qin prince, and listed all his faults, he humbly asked permission before death to listen to the zither. The concubine began to sing, the prince broke free and rushed away. Jing Ke threw a dagger, but missed. But the prince drew his sword and compartment for the attacker both hands. As the saying goes, he did not avenge his master, nor did he accomplish a feat.
